When I took us out to dinner a few nights ago, the restaurant was very quiet that evening and we had a particular table in the corner, and near the end our our meal a man came in and said very loudly that he had wanted the corner table where we were sitting. But then he took a different table instead.
So since we had a very late dinner (because the work shift ended late) and a lot of the street where the restaurant was located was blocked off because of a cancer walk event happening the next day, it was just us and the man who said he wanted the corner table in the restaurant.
I also heard the man tell the waitress that he was going to be writing reviews of the restaurant online on his platform or something.
And the man started playing with his phone in this nice restaurant and really loudly blaring off of his phone was some content about sports and misogynistic language, and "b****" was said multiple times.
He didn't play that on his phone the whole time he was there, but he did it for part of the time.
And our waitress, who was also his waitress, had to cater to this man and coddle him. He seemed like he would say sort of complaining things to her a lot, and she felt that she would have to be very nice to him.
Somebody in else in the restaurant apparently walked out and gave him a look, and he complained to her about them giving him a look. So she went back to the kitchen and said she would yell at him. (The person on staff who supposedly gave him a look.)
And then she came back and she said, oh he said he didn't give you a look. He said that's just what his face looks like.
I think he gave him a look.
And before we were getting up to leave, she jokingly told him that she would give him a reservation at the table in the corner where we were sitting from now on.
Didn't realize the table we were sitting at was so special and so coveted!
