Cats today
Sister cat greeted me, Vocal cat appeared shortly thereafter, and Shy brother did not come out for food or treats. He was not to be found. Finally I rolled my eyes and sat on the kichen floor and said, I like boys too, and five seconds later I heard a crash. Shy brother had emerged. He let me throw treats down the hall at him and came down to play with a toy and then went away and groomed himself in the hall. I read a book for a little bit. Vocal cat and Shy brother did not find this fascinating but the sister stuck around and watched me.

Is there not a long history of women being imprisoned by money? Example: you are born to a rich family in the Renaissance...as a girl. Get almost everything...jewels, gowns, the best artists at your court, and yes you had to get married off to an older man, but guess what. He actually likes / loves you and its not horrible at all. It can be lots of fun! Well, except that he has mistresses. See, he is allowed to. You are not allowed such. Your job is to be the wife and bear children. Especially BOY children. But you do that too! You got almost everything and did exactly what was expected of you! What, you didn't want to repeat that again?
For a guy: the world is your gorgeous, glittering candy bowl. Then your wife dies in childbirth. Everything goes downhill and you die trying to escape a dungeon after being imprisoned for years. You didn't want to repeat that experience?

Hmmm, jail.
Maybe I will think about jail for a little bit. Actually it was on my mind because a few months ago, I paid a woman to read some cards and "jail" was tugging at her. "In this life, you could have gone to jail. But you decided that was not what you wanted to do in this life." I said, "Really? Do you mean metaphorically, or..." "No. They are being very clear. You could have gone to jail." Thoreau went to jail. I have activist friends who went to jail. I have heard people I used to hang around with as a teenager have gone to jail. Sometimes when people get into certain kinds of relationships, they feel like they are in jail. Merry Christmas. I am not in jail.

There are three. The older friendly loud one, and the shy brother and sister. However, sister is not so shy after you shake the treat bag. It takes forever for the shy brother to emerge from his hiding place. Sometimes he doesn't come out at all. The friendly loud one wants attention and acts like a king, but when the shy brother and sister both come out, something happens. After they warm up to you and eat a few treats, brother and sister are very playful, and then the king cat kind of sulks and goes away and is less friendly. All of a sudden, you have to switch gears and act as if the king cat is "the shy one." He will ignore treats and entreaties to play if the brother and sister have been dominating the "stage" (the floor of the kitchen) for quite a while...oh, was Patience was written for such moments...When you leave, the brother and sister will once again be in retreat. But the king cat will hang around and consider making for the exit, even though it's a very cold and windy night.

I'd been feeling rather pleased with my viewing of this. Oh, I see. This is all just a part of evolution. This is all about society progressing, nature evolving. And I thought, huh, isn't it also cool, that one awesome lady reminds me of this other awesome lady (I think Zero is a really good song.) I was feeling quite entertained. And then...guess what. CONGRATULATIONS! Oh, my, god...Universe? DIE, the Universe says. DIE DIE DIE, right now, we want your ego to diiiiiieeeeee. It's fine. It's great. I'm sure I will look back on this period of my life with so much fondness...

I really am sorry that so many men in the world get the emotion beaten out of them at such an early age. It happens to some women, too. But probably more to men. I remember seeing a boy cry and knowing the grownups were going to be more ashamed of him than they would be of me, a girl. Society is changing. Men will have to be brave enough to break down, even if their own mother or girlfriend or father or brother or best friend rags on them for doing it. So you may as well get to it, otherwise you'll probably have to come back as a girl and do it anyway...hope you're looking forward to that!

A childlike part of me always really enjoyed Christmas (favorite holiday!) Presents? Music? Lights? Yes, yes, yes! However, I also like to explore other deities that were not as much a part of my childhood. Lately, I think Mary is Christmasy & good for moms and kids, but Kwan Yin is sometimes better for those don't connect as well with Mary...it seems like she is for just about everybody. I don't want to shame anyone about not being able to be "a mother" in the traditional sense. Also, I think motherhood is not just about physically giving birth or even being a woman. Men can have many nurturing qualities and be very good with kids. This is the sort of thing that I find fascinating sometimes. And I've noticed that when I am fascinated and learning new things, I am not really in as much turmoil about not being able to "follow the script," and I can enjoy life more. When that happens, I can also do more good for other people because it will flow out easily. It will not feel like a burden, but it will feel more like joy and like what should happen naturally. Life on earth is not always meant to be painful. It can be good.

I am sorry to say this but I am once again completely horrified by how little most "caring" mothers and fathers seem to care when it comes to the men and women who deal with infertility struggles. One of those men or women could be your own son or daughter. Do you want your kids eyeing the edge of a cliff because they feel they can't have kids like you / do what you did?
