On matrimonial things on Valentine's Day

One time when I lived on the East Coast in my early 20s, I found a picture of two people and fell in love with it. It was taken in the '60s or '70s. They were dressed in white. They were getting married on a beach. They were barefoot and wore conch shell necklaces, I think. I had just gotten to the point where I said, "That's what I want!" to myself. Then my mom came in. I asked her about the picture. She told me it was a picture of her cousin and his wife. They had a daughter, then got divorced, and then the mother was killed in Las Vegas. I felt shock. I decided to go to the bookstore. This was during the Beltway sniper attacks. I drove to Borders and noticed that only one or two of the patrons dared to sit by the windows. For some reason, I ended up picking up a book about S & M, written by a woman. No joke. I wish I remembered the name of the book. I only remember that she said something about getting acquainted with Marquis de Sade because she had to get to know her enemies.

I'm so sorry I couldn't make your reading. I meant to go, but got tied up at home in my newly remodeled shower with it's shiny massage wand from BB & B. I was just gonna relax in my homemade steambath, but found myself succumbing to a fantasy blond triage composed of Iggy, Joni, and Gwyneth. Probably it was all those herbs. I must have used something noxious. Just when things were getting a little crazy, Beyonce and what's-his-face ran in and ate Anna Mae's cake. Oh god. It was all so wrong. But really good, too. It just sort of happened. Please know that I have every intention of showing up to your next event. I didn't mean for it to turn out that way. I will probably even buy two copies, to atone for my unseemly behavior.

This reminded me of that time I was watching a documentary which talked about how he was supposed to go camping with Emerson. I was a little morose, as if E. were cheating on T., even though I think T. was dead at that point. Then it went on to say that, even though E. was supposed to go camping, he actually backed out at the last minute on the advice of his lawyer. Ha ha ha ha Emerson! Then: You are way too invested in this. You may need to see a psychologist.

There is this book...it's not my favorite...I do feel a little guilty because I skimmed a lot of it... I can't tell if I'm going to reread it or not, although it's possible...it's just one of the ones that was suggested to me when I asked for some recommendations a while back..it was in my hand at the time I saw creepy guy in the woods with kids...I will say that, if I bother to go back over some things, I am a little surprised at my sarcasm, and I thought to myself, who do you think you are, a Y.T.? The answer is No...also, if I were the author, I probably would have made her a 20-something-year-old college dropout living at home with Mom, as many 15-year-olds simply do not have the sort of sexual sophistication that Y.T. possesses (in a parallel universe, the author probably says "fuckyou" and I go "yep.") And now, on account of a little bit of susceptibility to pizza in literature, I think I should go read a novel that features delicious celery smoothies.

I decided to look up the famous kiss scene from Rocky. 
For some reason, on my phone the 2:55 "Best movie kiss Rocky" on alamiamathew's channel asked me for my age, while the 2:00 "Rocky Love" on Enrique Lopez's channel did not. I don't really know why.  The 2:00 had more appeal than the 2:55 one, if you ask me. Even though it was all cut up, the 2:00 one it showed more agency on the part of the female character and more undressage on the part of the male, while the 2:55 one, whole and intact, seemed more like an awkward moment.

One time, a guy at a bookstore tried to give me a book of love poetry, but I laughed and ran off to my friends. Then I bought a romance novel pinup model poster.

One time, a guy in a grocery store kept getting in my way as I was hovering around the pastries. I tried to ignore him, but I did see him out of the corner of my eye in the frozen food aisle. Well, at least I didn't buy the pastries.

One time, a guy who told me he was a writer acted interested in what I was reading, but I blew him off. This is how I fought off the influence of a few geniuses. Bedtime stories for children.

I went to a street fair this weekend and somehow found myself under a colored-light spinning top.

The guy who shot it up ran over to me and complained, "You totally could have caught it! You didn't even try."
