Some people seem to find conformity to be very comforting and perhaps even lucrative for them financially but I think it's just weird how it seems like some people don't want to know a lot about what's going on with others. They appear to want to remain in ignorance. They want their life on purpose to be simpler, even if that means other people get dehumanized in the process.
Did their parents raise them to be that way? That could be. I don't think that there is any guarantee that just because their parents were that way and they are choosing to be that way that future generations are going to be able to be that way, and I think that it's very sad that that's the best that they seem to be able to think they can do.
