I think people should be preparing for more than just, like, extra toilet paper in the house after the election or whatever.

You know how there's all those videos saying, Oh, after the election maybe things will get bad so you should stock up on water and toilet paper and canned goods.  What about in the future when all of the people who've been the most harmed by these current policies and whose family members got put in ICE detention centers are more free to be out in society can speak out again. How are you going to be respectful then if you're not being respectful now?
