The raccoon had a crushed leg and that probably came from some kind of big to the leg, and it wasn't anything like our cat would have done to it. Cats usually just stare. So it probably just came to our yard seeking some safety after the injury happened. Poor little juvenile raccoon.
Perhaps it would have gotten euthanized quicker if it had gone back to the animal control facility after all, but I don't know. (It was apparently euthanized by a vet at the animal rescue place the next day.) Anyways, learned a lot from the little injured raccoon.
