It takes the worst of times to show you how much some people are determined to be what they're determined to be.

You have to survive the summer of certain shallow rich people acting out their ability to be narcissistic horror shows. 

They're in survival mode and they get cruel. Maybe they'd be an ICE agent right now in less fortunate circumstances, also just carelessly plowing through life and doing things in exchange for a paycheck.

Survival mode activated that kills off their ability to be sensitive to others. That's something that's horrifying about certain human beings.
