People are so brainwashed by patriarchal rape culture that they would rather do anything then talk about it. Like they would rather I take off my clothes and dance naked or behave like a really stupid person who sucks up to abusive men. It's like those are some of the things they would really enjoy me doing, rather than trying to talk about something that's important and that we should fix. If I ran off and didn't do the mature let's talk about it first thing and cheated on my husband, that would be delightful to people like them. Jesus, these people are assholes. They are really messed up. I hope their children do a better job than they did with the whole respecting the bodily autonomy of girls and women thing, because a lot of things are getting really intense for lots of the daughters of this nation right now, and they're talking about it more than they ever did before, too. Because why wouldn't they, when rights are being taken away from them that their mothers enjoyed.
