They're capable of so much better, but they don't want to care about that, because they've tried to arrange things so that they will get maximal rewards in exchange for minimal amounts of respect for others. I guess that's just a survival strategy for some people. I don't know why some people end up like that. Did their dads role model weird patriarchal s*** and tell them to be more insensitive and patriarchal like them, possibly?
