When his ultra rich wife and ultra rich daughter start acting like being more compassionate towards other human beings triggers the happy chemicals in their brains. Like their middle class ancestors would have. Maybe. I suppose the son gets a pass because Patriarchal People always feel they need someone to carry their traditions onwards.
