Persecuting children in churches and schools is despicable. Greedy, materialistic, shallow people who lacked foresight need to grow and become much, much BETTER versions of themselves
Maybe if they become much better to their own fragile selves, then they will also be able acknowledge their own feelings of compassion for their fellow human beings.
