Perhaps not:
"Hey, do you think you're going to have any friends or family members of yours locked away in one of the detention centers before this is over?"
Probably not:
"Hey do you think any of your friends are going to get unjustly killed just by being pulled over in a traffic stop? What if they have little kids?"
How should I have a conversation like this with somebody and not have them shut me down?
