I can't take on her religious beliefs or outlook on gender roles, but my grandmother was a good person.

My grandma didn't have to be friends with a single Mexican person to see a Mexican person working hard in the fields in Michigan, and to have empathy for their struggle. And she used her words. I wish her other children had turned out more like her because they didn't, and they've been acting like huge materialistic assholes. 

What did my uncle do when I tried to bring up concerns about racial prejudice to him? He stopped talking to me and then he made a big display of inviting friends with little boys to play on his farm and their last name was White and he made this big deal about how their last name was White and that's what he posted. Who does that? This is a man who worked in the school system. He has multiple degrees, and psychological training. This is what he did. He regressed into a prejudiced child. What an awful person he was. This was somebody I was supposed to look up to and respect and admire when I was a child. A creative person. An artistic person. 

Where do white people get off acting like such assholes? They dare to act like assholes right when the country is getting more and more awful for non-white people. Everyday the white people get worse in their behaviors.
