Maybe it's because it doesn't happen often enough?
One painful aspect of living through these times is encountering how unwilling some people are to see that society is really biased and skewed and yes, racist at times.
It's as if they are scared to admit it because then it will make them feel too complicit, but in reality, if they just start admitting that society is racist sometimes, and they start acknowledging racism when they see it, then they won't be as complicit anymore. They don't even have to be perfect about seeing racism every single time it happens. They just have to be willing to see it!
