I'm afraid that people I genuinely cared about and liked could be persecuted by ICE, like the kind of people who made my day and made me feel like a good tutor. Why should I be happy if they're being persecuted by ICE?
It's too bad. You guys should have met them.
Equally, I feel like some low income students who didn't feel very loved by their parents and who were encouraged to just go out and make money asap might have joined ICE. I tried to encourage them to follow their own dreams and believe in talents, but there's only so much you can do. Their parents wanted them to work, not surpass them in educational achievements.
It's too bad; you guys should have met them, too.
I don't wanna be like whitey on the moon and can't forget it.
