Just because so many parents were raised by a deeply Patriarchal Culture to discriminate against so many of the "different ones" in exchange for a better chance at social acceptance doesn't mean they can't change their attitudes before that very special great grand child with the the different genetics gets born to an ever-evolving and more enlightened society of grown-ups.
