Although this patriarchal society devalues women and girls, at least Obama seems to treat his wife much better than some other disrespectful, self-absorbed guys have been trained to treat women.
They're not well, and they lack empathy, and there's probably no amount of attention or fawning or money that will ever fix that for them.
Maybe they will get inspired to go deeper someday.
