Some people are seemingly more accepting than others when it comes to handling complicated situations. There seems to be some accidental prejudice and sexism involved. I say "accidental" because I don't think people plotted to be prejudiced and sexist, but I think that they were trained to be prejudiced and sexist by the patriarchy at a very young age and then they act in ways that feel prejudiced and sexist. And then they don't want to talk about it. So it makes things feel very mangled. Why does it have to feel so mangled now? Why is that? Why was the village they were raised in not more accepting of outsiders and more nurturing?
