Experienced a small historic event this evening

I got to try fresh wasabi on some sushi. It was a very green, and a little bit chunky, kind of like a salsa.

"Fresh wasabi is an absolute GAME CHANGER"

https://www.reddit.com/r/sushi/s/yJl8U6razw

Well apparently it's technically not the freshest of fresh, but it was tasty, and I will have it again if offered.

Spooky character sketch.

Quotable, eh? More than the average capitalists running those pop-up Trump gear booths.

"Retired Adm. William McRaven, the former commander of the U.S. Special Operations Command, sees Trump as 'a disturbed 15-year-old boy.'”

~ Steve Benen
 "The White House is the home of American leadership, where Republican leaders like Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, Teddy Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush resided. While each of these leaders had his shortcomings and foibles, none of them consistently violated every principle of good leadership like Donald Trump does. Mr. Trump has no self-control. He lashes out at immigrants, religious groups and military heroes. He lies with reckless abandon. In August, in what was outlandish even by Mr. Trump’s standards, he reposted on Truth Social a picture of Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton above a crude sexual joke. Just last week he was regaling a crowd about Arnold Palmer’s anatomy. These are things a disturbed 15-year-old boy would do, not the commander in chief, not the man who holds the nuclear codes, not the leader of the free world."

Ah, the positive side is back!

For some reason, now I feel really positive and good!

"Toxic positivity that ignores the humanity of fellow human beings is not truly positive.

Especially in regards to human rights being threatened for children, and women, and also for men."

Like a cool and cleansing breath of fresh air that I need to breathe in!

This evening is like a metaphor for capitalism.

I bought some nice things for myself tonight, but it's kind of a sad holiday, anyway. One girl came by to trick or treat. We had no visitors last year. This complex doesn't seem to appeal to trick-or-treaters, or maybe nowadays people do more trunk or treating. No one wanted any of the candy I bought last year so we didn't buy any this year. But I saw a child and a mom, who was dressed as a black cat, and when I came home, I heard they had come by, but we didn't have anything to give her. And we felt regret about that. And another thing...there was a dead black and white kitten on the side of the road, and I hope they don't see that tonight. So it's kind of a sad holiday! I'll just have to be extra nice to my mostly black but also a little bit white cat tonight. And try not to think gloomy thoughts about  inequity with regards to society, it's tolerance for violence, the state of health care in this country, and etc. I have nice food, and a new special cream lotion product for my skin, and can cheer myself up, right?

Oh, he did?

"Donald Trump ventured to Fayetteville, North Carolina, earlier this month — a Democratic city in a swing state with a large veteran population, a powerful cross-section of defense contractors, and, right down the road, Fort Liberty, one of the largest military bases in the world.

Before an audience dressed almost entirely in red, white, and blue, Trump pledged to revert Fort Liberty back to its original name, Fort Bragg, which honored a slave-owning Confederate general. He also vowed to increase defense spending and scrub the Pentagon of 'woke generals.' Then he turned to the Department of Veterans Affairs."

~ Jasper Craven

"Trump’s Cronies Threw the VA Into Chaos. Millions of Veterans’ Lives Are on the Line Again.

Former VA officials warn that another Trump term could irreparably damage the health care system for millions of veterans."

I feel humans can do much better.

If you like the violent, dishonest guys better than you like anyone else, that's your decision, and you can feel all the love, but that doesn't mean the one who should run the country is the one who will make violence and racism and sexism and other dehumanizing impulses more acceptable to act upon in society.

Speaking...

There are loads of veterans will not vote for a violent, disrespectful, racist, misogynistic sexual predator in this election, but they might vote for a real Republican candidate in a future one.

~~~~~~
"Mr. Trump has publicly stated he would like to see our Constitution 'terminated.'
Mr. Trump has railed against what he calls :the enemy within' and has stated that he would employ the National Guard and the active-duty military against them.
Mr. Trump, according to the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff he himself appointed, Gen. Mark Milley, asked if he could activate from the retired list Gen. William McRaven, who planned and led the effort that found and killed Osama bin Laden, and Gen. Stanley McChrystal, a key figure in the recent armed conflicts in the Middle East, so that he could have them court-martialed. Seems they had somehow offended him.
Mr. Trump disparaged the late Sen. John McCain and sought to diminish his long–term imprisonment as a POW during the Vietnam War, stating that he 'liked people who did not get captured.' That from a man who avoided the draft during that period, possibly by having his daddy get him a letter from a doctor who apparently owed them a favor.
As quoted in the new book by Bob Woodward, 'War,' Gen. Milley said 'Trump is fascist to the core.' Nearly all top–ranking people who worked for Trump in the national security area, including as National Security Advisor, Secretary of Defense, head of Homeland Security, Chief of Staff retired General John Kelly, retired Gen. Jim Mattis, and others have refused to endorse Mr. Trump for another term."
What a great time to embrace change!
I truly look forward to your next blossoming.
I feel Elon should work on his mommy issues, and his daddy issues, and all of his issues.
Also, have you considered?...
If you're with a guy who thinks he needs a  misogynistic mom to raise his children, maybe he needs to go to therapy and work on his own mommy issues?
What's the benefit of things getting so ridiculous...
Let's talk about how your daughters and sons can be way more healthy and way less misogynistic than what was expected of you!
Just think of all the people they can be nicer to, even if you were trained by an unwell Patriarchal Society to dehumanize them.
And in the future, you can enjoy role modeling better values and not dehumanizing other people so much.
Wouldn't that be nice for them, and for you?
After all your houses don't dehumanize other humans. Humans do that.
But humans still have the human capacity to feel and evolve and grow. And they have the potential to heal, and to be so much better to their fellow human beings in the future, and to get better NOW.
You need to get healed.
Your children and grandchildren deserve and expect better than what your low self-esteem has gotten accustomed to settling for.
Nice in the past? It's not good enough.
Elon Musk was nice to Obama. Elon Musk was nice to people on SNL. Musk was even nice to me. And now look at him.
Don't expect me to be impressed by your "values" if you give into violence just to fit in with your friends!
Get real.
I'm not voting for Mr. Violent Sexual Predator just to appease a bunch of violent dads who try shame their own sons into being just as violent as they are.
Tell them to read more or something.
Sad old dudes who still expect boys to be so violent and then shame them for not being what they expect!!!!
Crime With Bobby on X: "**WARNING - EXPLICIT LANGUAGE..."
https://x.com/CrimeWithBobby/status/1851750874365702410
These are people want their own boys to be just as violent are they are.
And like it or not, society is changing.
No, he didn't even hit one of them. And also, his speech reminded me of a horrible story...
"Updated: Lawsuit says culture of weekly sexual assaults allowed at Damascus for years: MCPS is defendant in complaint alleging sodomy tradition dating to 2016"
https://moco360.media/2020/02/06/damascus-high-rape-victims-file-lawsuit-over-football-related-sexual-assaults/
Moreover, I heard about horrible stories like that happening when I was younger. Like when I was a kid, I heard about horrible stuff like that happening in boys' locker rooms.
But when I was a kid, most people acted like they knew that kind of thing was horrible, actually, when it happened to boys. How can we go backwards?
Maybe you could be nicer to a wider variety of people.
If you killed some of your childhood drama.
Oops, no, not that!
That's if you HEALED some of your childhood TRAUMA.
Sorry.
I guess it's a values thing.
"Instead of regular? Haha haha hahaha."
Just another day of learning how to be even more amazing to people with PTSD and the kinds of health issues that "regulated" society didn't want to talk about in that certain era.
Relax. Maybe you could order some sushi today!
I know, like some toro tuna melt in your mouth pieces of nigiri sushi, and a fried spicy roll topped with veggies and ginger.
Thanks a lot, lousy White Lotusy dream.
"You should learn how to be more of a 'pick me,' and then you'll feel SO much better!"
I just want yoga stretch.
What kind of yoga stretch? The kind that makes me feel free of how that dream bothered me so much, so I can get on with my day! Eh?
Sorry, blame that strange dream!
"I just want love. What kind of love? The love that makes me feel powerful and awesome enough to not care about anybody else's feelings." What childhood stage of life are you in?
As if to give me an answer...
I hear a pack of coyotes howling...I don't normally hear them at this hour. Well, maybe it's herd and pack mentality thing. It feels normal to some packs of people to exclude others, and so what feels like a not-so-evolved way of life to me is just what feels like a normal and perfectly fine survival strategy for them. Just still recovering from that really unsettling dream, I guess.
Some people enjoy colonization, and they want to find a weird pleasure in being a part of it all.
I wonder why some people just settle. They don't want to evolve. They just want to feed themselves. Of course, that's natural. You want to feed yourself. You want nice things for yourself. I just don't understand why some people want to have that at the expense of others, and why being so disconnected from other kinds of people, and from nature, is what feels safest to them.
It was a dream about feelings...and maybe a little of that "White Lotus" show!
I had such a weird dream about being in beautiful place and wanting to walk in the nice foamy ocean waves and sing as I saw someone else doing...
But I was waiting for some people to be as nice to be around as when they were younger. And...nope. They were not.
Being self-absorbed is a specific survival strategy.
Who needs a beautiful beach or house or dress if that's what the vibes are gonna be like?
Still, maybe it could be fun to walk in the ocean singing, someday...
Holding hands in other dimensions and laughing about how similar they are...
This has been a great time for name-calling on the internet. This is the era of people getting in touch with their inner terrible twos, and being emotionally x years old while verbally using an "adult" vocabulary. It's been a bit of a weird time, really!
I just know there's a more healthy dynamic you can access, though.
Trump's and your repetitively demonstrated marked preference for some entitled and not overly compassionate men whom he and you place above everyone else in your life means you have a lot in common with some of the other people in your Patriarchal Society...and it has served you and your ego in some ways, but it is so very biased and so very tiresome to witness it playing out over and over and over again.
Yeah, and besides human rights, what else are they losing?
I guess people go backwards sometimes because evolving is a process.
So, since they're being so tolerant of racism and sexism, but not forming Hitler Youth groups at the moment, thank goodness, what do the all those houses over human rights sects of the MAGA cult feel the young people of America need to be more like today in order reflect their principles and values? Violent at inappropriate moments in workplace situations to test the Patriarchal Society's biases and preferences?
What values?
Do you think that violent guys ever look at who some people want to vote for president and think, "Sure, of course I can get away with whatever I want, look at their low standards."
I think a house with no brain and no feelings can't comprehend this, but people can.
You know what I hope I don't feel I have to do in my next lifetime if I end up existing in the body of a white guy? I hope I don't act like I feel I need to make things worse for women just to feel important.  And moreover, I hope I don't act like I  need deeply wounded women with internalized misogyny issues to prop me up at the expense of other people just because I have such low self-esteem in spite of all of the inadequate undernourishing pampering that patriarchal white supremacy supposedly provides to folks like me!
What if they all go to rehab for a good long while and learn how to think about other people besides themselves for a change?
Thanks for the lesson, violent guy and the incompetent scared toxic masculinity of the patriarchal unleadership machine.
Hooray for the story.
I enjoy the princess and the pea and how  actually thinks that she deserves a better house than that. Her body is very sensitive!
That's how you act. Sometimes. Too much. Ick.
You act like you think you need so many abused women laboring for you just to get your basic needs met.
He's not the only one.
What if he deserves to lose his job, get called out on his violent bullshit, and find some actually effective rehabilitation? What about groups of dudes who manage him and other people and shirk responsibility and create a hostile and unhealthy environment? "Managers."
Hmmm. Makes me wonder.
I wonder if violent coworker had a dad who was bad to his mom. Hmmm.
Besides a bunch of people making excuses for his violence, and for themselves for acting like that's what they will tolerate?
What do you think that obviously violent kind of dude deserves? More pay and a better house, maybe? You bullying the "less important" people on his behalf, so you can feel better?
Thanks, people who get to experience your collective disrespect for them.
You can rebuild your disintegrated integrity by healing all the parts of you that are so much like they are.
You need to heal from the violence you've experienced. Too.
Your shallow ways and collective disrespect and discrimination with regards to certain kinds of human beings makes me sick.
Thanks for the lessons, people who makes excuses for the violent guy!
Now you can go meditate on your impulses to discriminate against certain kinds of people more than others, and what you've gotten out of repeating that behavior as your survival strategy!
Thanks for pointing it out, obviously violent guy who got all the excuses made for him!
Girls and women deserve so much better than you choosing to be an untrustworthy patriarchal person who makes excuses for other untrustworthy patriarchal persons just to survive your environment.
Processing the damage and the violence.
Processing the disappointment that some who you believed would know better were still so biased and so unmotivated to treat certain types of human beings much better. Maybe they needed more help from their society to see the point of doing so.
Found this, too.
How are the feelings? How are the feelings? How are the feelings?
I got a feeling that says something like, "I don't see why your feelings should make you feel like discriminating against certain types of people is your supposed safe space," and maybe that will evolve, who knows.
Another feeling is like 🥰 especially if my kitty comes and meows at me! 😺
However, the universe has practically hit me over the head with a sledgehammer lately about not ignoring the whole violence of discriminating against certain kinds of women and children is really not the best you could be doing for yourself and and your society thing.
It really does feel like that sometimes!
I am not allowed to ignore it.
What else can I do?
Sometimes it feels almost like fake positivity is another form of discrimination, honestly.
Using "fake positivity" to push people and problems away is not actually real positivity. Just be honest and communicate that you get depressed sometimes, and focus on actually learning about healing your problems instead of being so "fake positive." Don't discriminate against yourself and others for having normal human emotions. Life here on Earth is hard sometimes.
Change can also be good, right?
Maybe if some people got more focused on changing in a way that's for the purpose of healing, then some of their coping mechanisms wouldn't feel like such harsh prejudice and discrimination towards girls and women, and it wouldn't be so depressing to witness them, or such a PTSD trigger to feel like they are acting out strange warnings and reminders about not having delusions about relying on those who can't get motivated to be more focused on healing?
Humanity deserves much better health
Now tell some people's patriarchal parents to practice feeling just as horrified at the idea of a ruthless man abusing girls as they are horrified at the idea of him abusing boys.
Why are they still voting for this dude?
I think a shift to focusing on health could be so helpful.
It might help to address problems related to how some people who were nicer when they were younger grew up to become people who are really unhealthy and discriminatory and untrustworthy and in denial about it...Who needs to be that way forever? I suppose there were some feelings of security or safety that came from going down that road for a little while. But how could it possibly last forever?
Did they have good energy?
"At Murnau there is a big camp for Hitler youth. Six thousand boys between the ages of ten and sixteen. It covers a whole hillside and valley, and is wonderfully organized. The boys do all the work except cooking, and learn some of the things taught the Boy Scouts. Only there are more processions and drills. They’re different from the Boy Scouts too, because the Boy Scout idea is to develop the individual boy, and their idea is to train an army for the state. 'The age of the individual is past.' Where had I heard that before? In Russia.
They were beautiful children. I did not think they would ever grow up to be thickset beer drinkers with rubber-tire necks. They sang together, and no people sing in unison as the Germans do, thousands of them, in the open air, young voices, still soprano, and the hills echoing! It made one feel sentimental."
I wouldn't be surprised.
What if even the term "neurodivergence" starts getting looked at with different eyes in the near future?
Wow! To think that they called that totally normal level of human compassion towards other kinds of  human beings a form of 'neurodivergence' in the 2020s.
Kind of tells you some things about their society, doesn't it."
Oh God, please know that's not the only solution.
"I will totally and needlessly discriminate the most against the "different" one for as long as it pleases me, and then, to make up for all the needless and hurtful discrimination that I can inflict, and the little power trips I got from doing so, I will suddenly be more generous and accepting and open-minded at the very end of my life. And that will look very good."
Which members of their families or communities got "pretended out of existence" in the past?
That's the kind of person that might get born into the family again. And then what's going to happen???
When a particular GrandX eventually gets another humane being in the family whose "other" genetics or neurodiversity or life-altering experience is not something that everyone in the younger generation feels good about ignoring
or pretending is unimportant to acknowledge
or simply does not exist,
how well will the particular GrandX be able to handle the situation?
By looking more discriminatory towards the different one, as was the case with certain kinds of people in their society in the past?
Or will they not want to look so extra discriminatory?
Absolutely! Other activities would be better for their health...
"I think it would be good for my health to not follow and reinforce old patterns of needlessly discriminating against, dehumanizing, and making conditions worse for certain kinds of girls and women in exchange for some 'nice' materialistic gains, even if that's what the Old Patriarchal Society expected."
It might also be really good for their health.
There are times when one person is more inclined to see diverse points of view than the other. Maybe you can help them?
It's good to get better.
Even though some of the grandmas in some the families got a lot of mileage out of discriminating against certain kinds of girls and women, not all grandmas wanted to do that or to continue perpetuating those patterns. Let's start thinking about those other grandmas instead! That'll be better.
It will be "Nice" Nice.
I just can't wait for all your descendants to really see the people you discriminated against as actual human beings, and they might even start becoming friends with them. Even if it's not your children, it'll probably be your grandchildren who can do that. Won't that be nice when they're less discriminatory towards people then you felt entitled to be. I think it will be. I think it'll be extremely nice.
At least that pattern can't be repeated forever.
It's so funny because I could just imagine a certain kind of person saying to me "Well your lack of health insurance is not my problem."
But your marked insensitivity and sexism and racism and discrimination against people is your problem. You have a health issue. Why do you not feel any need to work on feeling better than that?
Good thing!!!
Your house does not have a brain and feelings that can see what affects other people and their children. You have a brain and feelings and you can choose to see what affects other people and their children.
Even though I've seen it happen
This is not the 1950s, and "only people from X types of backgrounds in certain occupations" should not be treated as if they're inherently more valuable to society than other kinds of people. Society has gotten better than that, and it can continue to get better.
There are so many kinds of veterans!
Veterans are such a diverse population of people. You know. Some veterans are actually livid because they don't want racism to ruin America by say, electing somebody who is, to put it very lightly, really insensitive about racism.
Well, it's because patriarchal society wanted them to act naive and to go along with bigotry.
"I just don't understand why the grandparents on that side acted so naive and so willing to go along with bigotry."
Another day, and another opportunity to overcome ingrained biases.
“'My reaction is that was a combination of 1933 Germany, 1939 Madison Square Garden last night,' former Trump adviser Anthony Scaramucci said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Monday morning. 'What you saw last night is a divisive America. That’s race baiting. It’s all the things that we were doing in the ‘30s and ‘40s.'
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-N.Y.), called Sunday night’s event a “hate rally.”
'This was not just a presidential rally, this was not just a campaign rally. I think it’s important for people to understand these are mini January 6 rallies, these are mini Stop the Steal rallies,' she said on “Morning Joe.”
https://www.politico.com/news/2024/10/28/trump-madison-square-garden-rally-tony-hinchcliffe-00185793
How can you make that a lot more funny?
"In the face of climate change, this is the daughter that definitely discriminates against certain kinds of people way less than that more racist and sexist grandma on that other side of the family discriminated against certain kinds of people." In the face of climate change.
Perhaps we should find more humor in this situation.
"Clinging so desperately to the last vestiges of being sexist and discriminatory, and milking all the Patriarchal social biases for perks, and doing it all in the face of climate change."
It's too hard! No it's not.
They don't have to fix other people's lives in order to not discriminate against them so much any longer.
But nevertheless, as you mature, you could expand and care more.
The vibe of "I mostly love being around people who have convinced me that it's my divine right to benefit more from the patterns of discriminatory patriarchal white supremacy than others, and that's why I still don't care about life getting better for anyone else, and that's still just fine with me for now," won't last forever, either.
Sometimes people get better when they get older.
What a joy it is to be around people who aren't tending to remind you that they were oftentimes convinced by the Unwell Patriarchal Culture to repeat some old hurtful patterns that made them discriminate against other kinds of human beings.
They totally wouldn't discriminate against you and your kind of body and your need for healthcare.
"Parents who believe their children deserve better than having low standards for a whole bunch of other people who prop them up in an inequitable society, and who care about society becoming more healthy, and you know they do because they actually act like it."
Some would hope that we would be much better now.
"A century ago, anti-immigrant backlash almost closed America's doors"
https://theconversation.com/a-century-ago-anti-immigrant-backlash-almost-closed-americas-doors-228589
Fortunately, I have met men and women who have raised the bar.
You should also start expecting the men in your life (as well as the women) to discriminate less against human beings and care more about health care for lots of different kinds of women and men, too.
Their nice life is also dependent on other people's ability to enjoy health and wellness. They should be better at acknowledging that, whatever values they learned from their society.
Do not expect the generations to come to benefit as much from swallowing the party line and going along with some heedlessly selfish ways of living. They are not going to get as rewarded for being jerks as much as some other people were.
Those rewards, by the way, were, or seem more like temporary distractions than the actually good rewards that were also available.
It's a caring about healthcare thing.
Their grandchildren are going to be so much better to X types of people than they were.
Why don't you find a church that has a different version of Jesus?
"We just act like this because we believe Jesus definitely loved the materialistic, insensitive rich women who discriminated against all the 'different' ones more than he loved all the other kinds of women who got neglected and abused by their biased society as he was propping up the insensitive, insecure people. But at least they were providing their society with a lot of goods and services. Who benefited from those goods and services the most?"
It's not sustainable.
Women and men who were taught that they have the most to gain and the least to lose by going along with the unwell Patriarchal Norms are constantly propping up a violent Patriarchal Society for a temporary sense of security and safety at the expense of others.
It really is not sustainable, though.
Their children deserve better, too.
Sometimes men are violent to people who deliver your food or other resources, and the Patriarchy hopes that girls and women will be distracted and selfish and not motivated to attempt to make society better, and that they will continue to be not so good at talking about it.
It will be painful to know and experience this, but maybe it will also make you try to find the people who raise the bar instead of settling for the people who are convinced that it's better to set the bar too low?
They were better and more sensitive human beings when they were younger.
I'm not here to be good at acting like the women who are the most insensitive to the health needs of other kinds of girls and women are great just because they're in a society that makes them think that none of the girls and women who labor to make their lives more comfortable are worth thinking about. They were duped by the patriarchy into becoming discriminatory against others. Their values are shallow and alienating and patriarchal and unhelpful. And lastly, they're very hurtful.
You're not here on Earth to be a shallow, insensitive person.
What is the point of your life if you were just going to choose to discriminate against certain types of human beings when you grew up, anyways?
It's not the house's fault, tho.
That's true. Materialistic possessions don't offend; insensitivity and discrimination and disrespectful attitudes do.
Maybe they'll take them to church.
I can't wait for the descendants of sexist, insensitive people who chose to be shallow and discriminatory against other people in this lifetime to be so much better to other members of society and humanity than what got role modeled for them by the ones who decided that going along with greed, selfishness and bigotry in exchange for materialistic rewards was acceptable and a great way to be.
Patriarchy rewarded them for not caring, and I don't think it's okay.
Shallow, materialistic people of today were the same people who discriminated against and degraded other people for having bodies that were different from theirs. That was not okay. They didn't care about access to healthcare for other kinds of bodies either. The bar is too low when it comes to them. And it's also too uncaring and it's too discriminatory against people who are not like them.
It's not okay.
They are not okay.
Is it ideal to have to take time off to heal your traumatized nervous system when violence in the world has directly affected you?
No, it is not, but it happens for reasons.
I do not want or need to have a group of entitled, scared, selfish people telling me I am better off at being a very insensitive person who does not care about what's happening to other people in the world.
Just because the uncaring Patriarchal Society thinks I should ignore it all and just be good at propping up an inequitable society by focusing on owning a house?
I do not think it is possible and I do not want that way of life to be mine.
To me, that's not okay.
Oh well. Maybe it will be good to see things in a new way!
The best thing about a place to live is it gives  you a place to rest and take care of your health. That's a really good thing about having a peaceful place to live. Humans and their systems need more places to cultivate wellness.
Sigh.
I still can't believe how much Patriarchal Culture wants some people to give away in order to have a house.
It feels too unbalanced.
I don't understand why people saying "I deserve to have good things" has to also be so tied to "But others don't deserve them and others who are too different don't even deserve to be heard or acknowledged." That just seems to be a really ridiculous way to choose to live a life, and not what I am supposed to do while I am here.
What is more important than material possessions?
I understand that material possessions give people joy, and a sense of security, but I do often get the feeling that having a healthier society in which more people have access to equity and good living conditions and civil rights is just a lot more important.
I think a lot of people are thinking that voting for a person who is dangerous and bad for the country and for the people they know is still their best option because they've become convinced that houses are more important than human rights.
When people get convinced to replace whatever joy they could have gotten out of helping society evolve with something like "this special car or house that will make me feel more secure" it just feels like a kind of mutilation of human potential is taking place, and it's quite a letdown.
Adorable!
Do you ever feel challenged by toxic positivity?
Do you ever feel as though all the relentlessly "positive" people are just being, like, these exclusionary gatekeepers who keep shutting people out and putting up roadblocks and, like, what if they're actually not living up to their true potential? It just seems like there's too much trauma in society to just ignore it. Ignoring it is like putting a useless Band-Aid on a wound instead of healing it. But of course Band-Aids do help sometimes. But in this case, no, it's not good enough. It's fine to know that better things will happen sooner or later.
What if this voice is like nettles.
They can sting, but they can also have vitamins and be nourishing. Witches.
Why did I even meet some people?
If someone seems a bit more flippant around others but then sometimes we can have actual serious conversations and then I see them acting flippant again, is it like I got to see the real them, or is that more like I got to see them role-playing being more thoughtful and serious, but their true side is the flippant one? Oh my goodness!
I am not seeing that they took that vacation to build up their self-esteem yet?
Sometimes I think about how much more fun some people would have become in their older years if they were just less...unnecessarily sexist, untrustworthy and shallow. Really, if they could just be less unnecessarily sexist, untrustworthy and shallow, that would be super. It's not really that hard. Just be less unnecessarily sexist. And less untrustworthy. And less shallow.
Do it for your health! Right now.
Also...in this particular time of trials...
Maybe more people will start wanting abusive Patriarchal people to truly heal! I think that some are men and some are women. It's interesting to note that some veterans are also pretty angry at peoplefirv thinking Trump is good enough for America and for them. So if you think that Trump is the candidate for all the veterans, that is a huge lie. But let's get back to what I was going to do, which was get myself better.
Arrrgh. My body deserves better. Thank you for the good things.
"Releasing Anger with Reiki and Intuitive Healing"
Bring on the better way to be now.
Because I have good people in my life and a good cat and I know they deserve better I'm going to try to become a happier person this evening because I've been sorely tested lately and I need to do some healing and self-repair. I quite frankly feel resentful of trauma and stress and I'm sick of it. I will make efforts to get better.
Do you think they can get better, though?
Do you think some men are so violent and so tolerant of violence because they want to teach other people a lesson?
Since you've had a life in a patriarchal society
What kind of children and women and men do you think deserve to be treated better by that patriarchal society than the other kinds of human beings, and how do you choose to communicate those beliefs in your manners and habits?
Don't men deserve better, too?
Do violent men who have created hostile environments deserve to be held accountable,  so that they can get better and get rehabilitated, and go on to live much better lives?
Your God is nicer than your Society!
Of course you know that a man with more privilege and money is not inherently a better  human being who is more valuable to God than  a girl or woman who is being harassed by a violent man as she is delivering your food to you.
Why would God believe that?
I felt another question coming up.
Which kinds of daughters does your society think deserve environments that are free of violence, and how do you know that?
There should be more rehabilitation for sure.
The bizarreness really makes a mind wonder.
Why do you suppose you even learned about something like civil rights in your history classes if you have to act like you think human rights still don't apply to certain kinds of women and girls, or why do you act like you still think you have to be fine with that, just so you can have a okay life, and just so you can feel able to survive in your environment?
How do you deal that?
You ever walk into a place and hope that there's no secretly violent irresponsible people there, and that the managers aren't just letting bad stuff happen to people because they are in some delusional form of groupthink denial, and hope that even harassment that's been recorded on camera would actually be taken seriously?
That way sparks curiosity...
People who need to be irresponsible with others and themselves in order to feel like they have community are showing you this is an opportunity to look for the community that doesn't do that and that there are community dynamics that are much better.
And then, threats of violence from patriarchal sources intrude and again remind me that this is not okay.
How are they so much worse about caring about civil rights now than they were when they were younger?
It's challenging to be patient.
What a great time to make some positive life changes.
How do you know the patriarchy is unwell and not actually very powerful?
Sometimes, it's just because one man has been bad to others, and then not a single person in a group of people felt empowered to stand up to him, even though they are in positions of "power." Supposedly.
Groupthink and panic seems to reign instead.
And sometimes, it's other things that remind you that the patriarchy is ailing.
Like, how on Earth do you think it's good for your kids to be so bad and prejudiced against other people's children? How do you actually think that's healthy? Who convinced you that was the way to be?
It's definitely not the only way to be. At least some things on the planet might remind you of that, once in awhile.
Hopefully, they and their descendants will be motivated to expand their awareness much faster.
They were not persuaded to be prejudiced against "people like you" because it was good for their kids.
That's not actually what's good for their kids.
They were persuaded to act prejudiced because that's what their society told them would keep them in a more privileged and safe position and that it would allow them to have more power.
Supposedly.
Petty and sad.
Better to acknowledge that you know the world is full of people who need and deserve better.
What an incredible misuse of "privilege."
 "A child’s voice says, please help, my sister is dying, please help me.
A woman says my children are gone. Nevine asked how she knew.
'Look at them,' the woman says. One is very still, the other has a severe head wound and is either dead or dying."
Why is it so easy for the insensitive habits to be repeated? Is it a self-esteem or self-protection thing?
Meet the people who can't explain how and why they got more prejudiced against other kinds of human beings ever since they got older and / or got married and had kids.
They used to be less closed-minded, but things are different now.
Is it a self-protection mechanism?
Did they ever subconsciously feel their kids or perhaps their grandkids would need to see an example they don't or would not want to repeat?
Penalized.
"But they contended that Thursday’s event was similar to other Microsoft-sanctioned employee giving campaigns for people in need.
We have so many community members within Microsoft who have lost family, lost friends or loved ones,” said Abdo Mohamed, a researcher and data scientist. 'But Microsoft really failed to have the space for us where we can come together and share our grief and honor the memories of people who can no longer speak for themselves.'"
Be "admired" when they had the courage to stand up to an unwell and unjust society.
Well, they really remind you of how rare it was in the historical past for someone to be the kind of person who would...
Too bad for them, or too good!
Even knowing two people in a day to day life who are much better at not being so dehumanizing and so prejudiced against the "others" really raises the bar.
Is it possible that maybe they don't know anyone in their day to day lives who are even like that?
Well, maybe some of the kids and the grandkids won't feel the need to do that prejudiced stuff as much.
So many hours of dehumanizing other kinds of people, just to feel more "privileged" according to the exclusionary and dehumanizing and uncaring Patriarchal standards.
They have a job. It's propping up the unwell Patriarchal Society.
"Privileged moms" never have enough time to explain why it's just so hard to help the other kinds of moms, and it's really hard to even think about somebody whose conditions may have prevented them from becoming the kind of person that they won't be biased against.
They were trained to get validation from perpetuating patterns of bias and cruelty.
It's really hard for them to take any time off from their job of propping up the Patriarchy. Nevertheless, I think they should do it for health reasons.
I don't think propping up the paycheck, sorry, that's the Patriarchal Society, is good for your health, even if you are a "privileged" person who gets more out of it than other people get out of it.
As long as you're still alive in this lifetime..
There's still time to be less cruel and less prejudiced.
Even though the values you demonstrated via the people you chose to put on a pedestal (they would have been treated much worse by you if they'd been born into a different body in this lifetime) were a hindrance to the health of humanity
(on account of the prejudices you picked up along the way)
there's still time for you to get better and be a less prejudiced  person and be a better example to others and not be such a depressing symptom of insensitivity and selfishness.
You should have treated girls and women better.
Your descendants really should treat girls and women better than you did in this lifetime.
So many of them! Even the ones who don't grow up to have kids will actually deserve a good life, even though people will be prejudiced against them.
Meet the children everywhere who deserve way better than the prejudiced parents who got brainwashed into putting another untrustworthy sexual predator in a position of power.
Oh, them again. What do you suppose they need?
Grandparents who would have been much, much, much better to a much, much wider variety of girls and women if they'd been raised better or rewarded more for that sort of thing.
Maybe some children will be less prejudiced in spite of some parents' examples.
The horrible and repetitive habits of constantly treating certain people with certain types of characteristics as superior and/or as better than others just to fulfill your personal preferences is a terrible way to communicate that you are just going along with the prejudices the Patriarchal Society expected you to demonstrate.
Maybe to create a better society, people and some parents, too, could become much better.
And then "Meet more of the shallow, sexist people (some of them are parents!) who still discriminate against girls and women, and who would only treat you better if you had different genetics, and if you were just as shallow and sexist and discriminatory towards girls and women as they are, because those are the patterns they were trained to keep on perpetuating" won't be such a repetitively dehumanizing experience.
Maybe society could get much better much faster.
Maybe future "heroes" won't have to routinely participate in dehumanizing  so many other kinds of human beings on earth and in their society in order to get approved by their society as worthy of being celebrated.
Really.
Being better to the women with certain genetics and more money who have kids than to other kinds of human beings is also still being too cruel to girls and women as a collective. That says the Patriarchal Society trained you to treat certain kinds of women as more valuable to your Patriarchal Society than others, based on some very stringent standards.
It's time to drink water
My body needs water. I want to live in a better time. I am so tired of Patriarchal people being so cruel to girls and women.
Catty ones, what do you fear?
"The Victorians switched witches for old-maid stereotypes – for single women without children: 'Old maids and cats have long been proverbially associated together, and, rightly or wrongly, these creatures have been looked upon with a certain degree of suspicion and aversion by a large proportion of the human race,' wrote a journalist in the Dundee Courier in 1880. The Old Maid card game was often illustrated with a dour woman and her cat, the 'friend of the friendless', as it was described at the time. In the 1900s, anti-suffragette propaganda used images of cats to portray women as silly, useless, catty and ridiculous in their attempt to enter political life."
Oh wow! It's Caturday already.
I feel like saying something that's not about cats though... It's about people and their Uncaring Patriarchal Society.
It can be painful to realize that some people want to act like they are so fine with the current societal norms that they have taken great pains to feel very cozy with them, to the extent that they will automatically shut down and contribute to the dehumanization of anyone else who has a different reality, because it's too threatening to them, and it's like they are repeating those old patterns now, when in the past, you thought they were capable of being much better than that.
Like, when people discriminate against people who don't have kids or who weren't able to have kids, or for a variety of reasons it just wasn't what was possible for either their body or their economic situation or something...It's actually, not just insensitive...it feels like a form of dehumanization and almost like persecution and an attempt to kill off a real aspect of the human experience.
There are people who just don't want to know how much they were trained to discriminate against others, and so they will shut down any evidence of other people having a different reality, and shut down their own humanity in order to preserve their egos.
It is sad that they would even do that to their own descendants, too; that they would shut down their own descendants' humanity, just because their descendants do not have their same genes.
You don't know how your descendants lives are going to turn out.
They're not going to be able to choose to have a life that's like your life was.
So what does all this have to do with it being Caturday?
Well, this type of socially-induced insensitivity to others is why cats might seem like they are better and more honest company than some people are, sometimes.
This woman's story would be an interesting movie.
"My biological brother was leaning off the faux leather couch dangling a smoke in his hand. My cousin (my paternal uncle’s daughter) wore a chic pixie haircut and designer clothing. She looked at my brother for a moment, then gazed at me, and said to him, 'Isn’t it funny? You’ve changed someone’s entire fate.' He shifted his eyes away, laughing awkwardly.
In that moment, I did somehow see my life intertwined with his. We were both born with the hope of being a son. It was just that one of us was, and one of us wasn’t. And in the circumstances we found ourselves, that made all of the difference."
Just saying...
The universe has been really firm with the fact that people in society need to pay a lot more attention to domestic violence issues lately.
Actually, got the idea of some young people having a conversation in the future about the grandpas who were veterans of armed forces who also recognized fellow veterans in the domestic violence survivors in their society.
"He did that! In the 2020s! What an advanced mind."
This one looks like fun. You could play with this. You could make art.
"Do you ever think about how the grandchildren will want to abandon their own descendants much less than what was considered acceptable in previous eras?"
Yeah, apparently so.
You got pushed off of a straight path and yours was more winding because you had to be more empirical about some things?
Multifaceted mind...
This is still a thrilling sentence to me.
"The rediscovery of de Pizan through the 1982 English translation of 'The Book of the City of Ladies' (1405) by Earl Jeffrey Richards, during his time as a Princeton Ph.D. student, changed the field of medieval and feminist studies in the U.S."
I guess that's why I went back to school?
The dusk is duskening.
The toe is making contact with the soft black paw, and there is purring.
It's dusk!
Sometimes this is just absolutely my favorite time of day.
A great time of day to empty your mind.
Just be in the moment.
Appreciate your bedspread.
Appreciate the apple you ate.
Appreciates the little bit of natural light that's left.
It's so soothing!
Zen
I also wonder if there's something in the brain that says yes, now it is time to go to bed.
This woman could teach some people a lot of things.
Gratefulness...
Yesterday, I was beyond grateful to reconnect with a healing space. There were people who really helped me there in the past, but I did not see any of them because we all went separate ways. Even if I don't talk to them anymore, I felt intense love and appreciation for that time, beyond what I expected.
It's true that sometimes you think when you're around certain people, you'll see them for more than a season because maybe it used to be that way when people grew up in the same village, but there is also power in appreciating what was and tapping into the presence of healing and universal love again. I hope they have as much healing on their journeys as they can enjoy.
There are no words to describe it. I have tried to describe it with words but the experience is much better.
The second thing was, after I left that special place, I was just really happy to be alive on Earth. I was grateful that I came here to experience lots of different kinds of feelings. I really felt that even moments of conflict or unease or confusion are here to teach us more about how we can live a better life and they can help us.
I realized that part of what I like about having lived in a lot of different places is, it's so much fun to go back and visit even just your old grocery store or whatever. That's what I did and who knew it would be great and so much fun!
The last thing is, I was able to visit a friend and share my experiences and she was truly open to hearing about them.
I told her some more details about how I had had such a good evening. I talked to her about feeling more aligned with my life's purpose again. I felt I could see a lot of the old troubles in a new light. I could feel more tapped into a joyful feeling, like what I experienced as a child, and how that is with me for a lifetime.
She said she could feel a change, too, and that being able to hear about my experiences was a good experience and bringing a healing to her as well. She also shared some similar experiences she'd had.
Bright blessings!
Water! Such a precious resource.
It's really wonderful to feel more hydrated now and not have all that stressful anxiety that this body felt upon waking.
Looking forward to more water and maybe some herbal tea.
Adulthood can be good.
It is kind of fun to be an adult. It's fun to enjoy a more sophisticated mixture of music and media and literature and sometimes the other things, too. Sometimes it's fun to go to a party, or go out.
I think I only want to do it on occasion. Not like, go out every night. Definitely, no, not like that.
People who are in the middle of the process of healing nervous systems do not need tons of stimulation. Let's put it that way.
The thing that's cool is...
It is possible to have some control over how you perceive things. Like if you went somewhere, and you had a not very good time for the hour that you were there, but for 5 seconds of it you had some humor or enjoyment or something good, you could choose to focus on those 5 seconds when you remember it.
And and and... Remember, if you have your vitamins and everything and all of your bodily functions and processes working, it's probably easier to access that positive way of thinking.
Sometimes I wonder if bad moods and hormone imbalances are also partially due to vitamin deficiencies or something like weak stomach acid due to stress, and then you don't get your vitamins, and I don't know, all that sort of thing.
Nutrition.
That's what I need to look at, or part of it.
Also fun things. What were all the fun things I wanted to do once upon a time, and still a part of me wants to do them, and they can be really simple like making something with clay or digging in the sand with a shovel. Doesn't even have to be a fancy vacation, like, that's what they teach adults they need, so they'll spend money.
Silly!
It's time to get better now.
I'm still processing stuff. I'm still trying to get better. It takes a lot of time? Or just some time, to change and get better.
I had multiple realities to deal with.
Unique circumstances.
Perhaps I'm not a genius, and perhaps I don't want to be.
Just a simple soul. Had to deal with some stuff. Didn't learn how to do it all right away. Wasn't such a quick learner at times. But what about the concept of slow as a good thing.
I have to be nice now because of health reasons.
I ate a small bowl of rice and meat and salad and broccoli at midnight. Maybe I needed that instead of the vegetarian healthy food I ate, to make up for my less than healthy caffeinated drink choice earlier.
I feel hypersensitive, and even little fun argumentative things that would be fine to look at earlier...they're not for now.
I just have to go with it. This is what my body gets like sometimes. It needs me to feed it the proper food and needs me to not get distracted. It's like a baby.
Maybe I should say "she." She is like a creature I must take care of very good care of, like the kind of care people need to use with babies. Yes, it's a bit like that, honestly.
People who were born or currently live with systems that are sensitive need to take care of them.
I know what it is. Stress affects me physically,  probably or possibly more than it affects the average person. It really does. It probably actually depletes me of vitamins and stuff. Wow. Aren't genetics and environmental factors interesting?
Oh, wait...B?
I have a B-12 vitamin and took it.
I have felt really weird this evening, like, as if a small 8 oz drink with espresso in the a.m. is still  affecting me.  Now I am just, ugh, not getting that again. I don't know why I got it. It was kind of for nostalgic reasons or something. I don't know if my body's just tricking me? It seems that maybe I can deal with just regular coffee in the morning sometimes.
I read something about when people have certain kinds of B vitamin deficiencies, they don't process caffeine as well. And also you get pins and needles feelings when you have a deficiency. And I got pins and needles in my hands yesterday and feet today. It was a really icky feeling.
Have to focus on health.
