Well, the candy salad got my attention.

Just had a memory of being in a waiting room in a dentist's office.

When a woman who had immigrated here from another country with her two children (and I believe she was well connected with a Christian organization or church group) was telling them that "Grandpa Trump" was going to help them. The little girl who was younger seemed to believe her (and repeated what she said). The boy was several years older, and he seemed to question her a little bit.

So then I wondered how many children have been detained.

This is from April:

Advocates warn trauma from detentions will cause kids lifelong damage."

More than 200 of these places exist. I would expect that all of them have some children's parents in them.

I need to be sensible when I walk through doorways.

I have to be very careful because I just jammed my thumb into the door for no reason, like bent it back at a weird angle. And I honestly wonder if it made a weird sound. And wow, it hurts a lot and it's being iced now. But I don't think it's broken or dislocated, but it just got stretched to its limit and it needs the ice pack.

But I guess it's a cupcake eater's world.

Of course, jokes are all in good fun and everything, but seriously.

Like, the whole phenomenon of jailing pregnant people (in biologically female bodies) for miscarriages, but still not jailing any rich men for the Epstein files crap is really... DISTURBING.

In spite of everything...

I'm very proud of our progress.

Rent a white dad; or, rent a white - looking dad, to help you navigate our End Days of Patriarchal Mayhem.

But if they're rich, sometimes they'll donate their time.

It's potentially a new career path for the white - looking Latino boys too.

I thought pineapples were supposed to be a hein or sign of hospitality, but I guess their history is more complicated than that.

I suppose sometimes people do change for the better.

I wonder if the blonde mom babysitter who seemed to not like certain types of children more than others is a grandma now?

You know what I remember the dad on this TV show whining about...

"Eight Is Enough" - Wikipedia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eight_Is_Enough

Okay, so back then, apparently he was able to support his gargantuan family on a newspaper columnist's salary, which I have no idea how that could ever happen today, and I have no memory of him wanting to fling himself over a cliff because he couldn't afford to feed all those mouths, but when his birthday rolled around, he was moaning and groaning about he was "half a century old" on his birthday. It was a real source of pain for him to feel like he was getting old, and that's how he put it. Anyways, that's my main memory of that show. I haven't checked it. I haven't gone back to try to find the episode or anything. It was not my favorite show. It was just something that was on our little black and white TV set. After our year of not having a TV. But I'm glad we did get a TV, because we watched "Amadeus" on it.
