The haze of a nap hangs over this weekend

Very tired most of today and much of this weekend. I was afraid I was getting sick on Friday evening. However, I was better on Saturday. Going to go outside to buy food.

Maybe I should bake or buy baked things

Probably quite yummy.

Kinda hangry

Food

Looks like food blog guy and cuckoldry guy wrote a paper about disagreements together.

Creative coping

You might need to create a new world in your head. You might need to use your imagination to help you. There are some benefits to not waiting for the outside world to stop being sexist.

There's no massive movement of 12-step style meetings like "My name is so-and-so and I was taught to value men more than women. I have made excuses for people who mistreated women. I have devalued women. I am a product of this culture."

But there is the possibility of choosing to make the more positive instances of greater importance in your mind.

It's like a public health issue

It has scared me that a lot of women don't even know or want to see how much they were taught to build up men and devalue other women.

They were taught to make so many excuses for men and sometimes for women who devalue women. It creates really unhealthy environments.

Who wants to be treated as less than just because society taught you that a woman's voice and experiences is not as important as a man's voice and experiences?

Who wants to be "one of the guys" and treat other women like crap in the process?

It's so messed up. It is not okay.

Where oh where...

You should have bookmarked it!
It was just two guys playing some instrumental (maybe ambient?) stuff in a place in New York City that has, I think, since closed down (I later looked it up on yelp) but I can't remember any names.

It felt like the musicians were channeling good energies. I loved their music. It was great to me, but nobody was famous. They might not even play together anymore. I cannot find it. Anyway. Yes it is a giant haystack.

This is not what that was, but it grabbed my attention recently

The Heliocentrics - Capital of Alone (2017)

That is good, but way sadder than the other stuff was.
I also wish I could find that other stuff!

Some thoughts and impressions

Cool.

Honest.

Human.

Caring.

Not a cult leader.

Not pretending to be perfect.

Not making excuses for misogynistic behavior.

Because I don't have to

Today I made zero excuses for my boyfriend. Because I don't have to! Because I have no reason to do so! Some people, however, have very, very good reasons to make lots and lots of excuses...

It is complicated though.

It's unfortunate that certain traits overlap.

It's kind of baked into society.

From an essay on kindness

"Nice Girls versus Kind Women" by Asia:

"...the central tenant of his speech, offered to describe me and entire body of my work, was this: Asia is sweet. I stood on stage and felt as small, and hard, as a candy in someone else’s pocket."

To reread today

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie: ‘This could be the beginning of a revolution’ By Lisa Allardice

So repetitive

When your women friends who think they are "woke" and "feminist" continue to treat women like crap and to allow men to do so.
