Something that's really cool about getting older is: you realize that you can make all kinds of plans and try to make yourself "safe" from something happening to you that you don't want to happen to you; however...
(I watched a video earlier where a young woman was explaining why she was planning out her life in a certain way so that she would never end up in a particular way when she was older, and it just made me kind of wince / smirk. )
Because it's true that you don't know what's going to happen. Something could still happen to you or somebody else, and you're just going to have to deal with it when it does, if it does, but maybe it won't, but it could. I mean, I've certainly seen that that kind of scenario unfold plenty of times.
