I have wondered about this, and I'm starting to formulate a theory. I have a theory that the Universe needed me to feel more pain about what happened between Beatrice and Ludovico than about what happened with Diane and Henri because look at the Dynamics of Our Time, Man. Look at what they're doing! Hardly anybody gets to be like Diane. Way more Beatrices out there. And yet it seems like it was an incomplete project if I didn't get to acknowledge that other pairing.
