I think the reporter has a nice name too: Arielle Mitropoulos.
"Maria Rosales, 32, was detained by ICE agents at Logan Airport last Friday, after coming to Boston from Miami to attend the Noah Kahan concert at Fenway Park, her attorney said on Thursday.
In a sworn affidavit obtained by NewsCenter 5, Rosales described the conditions as "tough," writing that there are days that she has not been allowed to shower or change her clothes.
"There were nights we had 8 girls to a room, the room is extremely hot with all those bodies in a tiny cell," Rosales said. "We have to beg for water and when we ask for several[,] they limit [us.]"
Rosales was brought to the United States at the age of 4 from Colombia, but grew up in Miami, according to her attorney, Todd Pomerleau. She was also a recipient of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or the DACA program, Pomerleau said, an Obama-era immigration policy that allows young people, who were brought to the United States as children, temporary protection from deportation.
An ICE database does not detail where Rosales is currently being held, stating that those inquiring about her whereabouts should, "call ICE for details." However, Pomerleau said that she has been in Burlington in the days following her arrest.
"The food is inedible. Some of the girls here refuse to eat because the food is vile, and they couldn't stomach it," Rosales wrote. "There have been days where we ask for food several times[,] but they feed us at their convenience."
