I feel like when I was watching the "My Brilliant Friend" show it was more interesting to see the gender dynamics when the characters were younger. But by the time they got older and were parents and had the skinniest actresses play them I didn't care about watching the show anymore. And also why did their characters have to end up being so shallow as they got older? Eeeesh. And so very tiresome their taste in men was as they got older as well.
