Telling people how they should feel just to make you feel comfortable is some oppressive sexist colonizer b******* and is a huge abuse of privilege.
Telling people they should be okay with stuff that is unhealthy just to fit in with a culture is not the way to be.
Who cares if a bunch of famous rich people can be manipulated into giving somebody compliments when that person just does it so that he can constantly run away from the things he fears and maintain a delusion of control and never has to face up or own up to anything?
They are not doing that guy any favors.
