How to not be like that kind of parent, if I do ever become a parent in another lifetime?

I bet some parents are so sexist that they would actually insult or put down their children, or make them feel like they were in danger of not being loved by them, just as a punishment for actually having the gall to pay attention to things that they actually should be paying attention to, like some very run-of-the-mill, everyday social injustice types of situations.
