for what it's worth

DAYS AGO
is a song running on ideas afterwatching Mad Men you could have not understood some things about girls, occasionally stared at one and acted superior, but felt the vibes, resentment, and actually you could have been confused by both men and women lots of times, you knew your own feelings didn't always connect with words, there is more than what is on the surface of things, you could have met others who also didn't know how to deal, particular experiences, some with abusive people, some with not abusive people who nevertheless performed something about confusion on this planet, you could have been seduced by women, could have been a seducer and then run away from women, could have expected a woman to feel what you felt and then have been unpleasantly surprised,  you could have said a few things and then been terrified because all of a sudden a group of guys wanted to kick your ass, you could have loved solitude, cornfields, a farm, reading, your own physical strength, and then have been astonished by another man who was stronger than you, you could have been easily approved of by other men in society, but this didn't stop you from feeling internal conflicts and knowing you were different somehow, you could have taken drugs and broken through to some types of ideas or feelings, felt your own fears, escaped punishment, felt your curiosity, there were other people in other times and places, you could have loved nature, could have left, could have flown,  forgiven a man who could be abusive, you could have run away from home, or ridden on a train, you could have not understood girls and been perplexed, you could have been shy and called one up and to your relief, she said 'yes'

the ideas of the pale man (who died young) and the pale girl (who grew up to be much older) there was the idea of the child (who was darker and died of child-on-child violence) and there had to be tears to cry about that one, not because of the skin, not even because of the way of dying, but because of the missing connection to a mother...
