I got a song in my head!

“'This is a big deal, and sad at the same time,' said Tracey J. Woodruff, professor and director of the Environmental Research and Translation for Health (EaRTH) Center at UC San Francisco, who said the ban was 'a long time coming.'”

Wow, a real person experiencing a real life that could change for the better.

"Married just a year before the war, Raheel had once dreamed of starting a family. But she grew to find solace in being childless amid such chaos. 'I thank God every day that I don’t have a baby to worry about in these conditions. The fear would be unbearable,' she shared.

In June, she learned that her brother-in-law was killed during a military operation in Shujayea in Gaza City. 'For the first time, I wished I had stayed in Gaza City to support my husband,' Raheel said. 'I feel helpless being so far away. Will I ever see Abed? I doubt it.'"

It is silly click bait to pretend that all this stuff is in the past.

Of course you know that there are lots of kids on the planet who still do a lot of these things now, too.

Sorry, kids! It was just some survival mechanism stuff that was passed down to the parents by their parents.

Wow! So, there are many kids on the planet who have to overcome the prejudices foisted upon them by the previous generations. But still. Wow! What a lot of work they've been given to do. Just. Wow!

IVF is SO expensive! Nevermind, we're just talking about tampons, for now...

"Let’s start with affordability. According to the Alliance for Period Supplies, 1 in 4 students in the US do not have access to period products because of their cost. Experts call this 'period poverty.'

Period poverty makes it harder to learn. A recent survey of high school students in St. Louis found that 64% of girls experienced some form of period product insecurity, and 33% of participants said they had missed school because they lacked a period product. Two-thirds of all students surveyed said they had at some point relied on their school for access to menstrual products.

Other studies have found that when women can’t afford pads or tampons, they resort to unsafe or unhygienic practices, like using products for much longer than recommended. Some made do with rags or paper towels, which are not as effective.

No politician should want to be associated with unhygienic rags. And yet some Republicans governors are actively preventing efforts to help kids getting appropriate products. Most recently, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis vetoed funding that would have established a pilot program providing free pads and tampons in the state’s public schools.

These programs don’t only help the neediest students. They make puberty less awkward for all girls. Periods can start at inopportune times — say, in the middle of social studies class, when even the most prepared can be caught without a needed product.

Menstruation is also starting earlier for some kids; some data suggests a rise in the number of girls beginning to menstruate at age 8 or younger, when the transition might catch them by surprise."

What a gift to humanity.

I can't wait for all the grandchildren who are going to think it's normal to be less cruel, prejudiced and misogynistic against certain types of girls and women than some of their family members were! For sure.

I'm sure you could have been just as fertile and blessed and way less of a jerk about it.

You gave the blessing of fertility a bad name by being prejudiced and misogynistic against people who aren't like you. You weren't born prejudiced and misogynistic, so what made you act like that???

Some people think God loves their bank accounts more than he loves anybody who will get in the way of their superiority complexes.

Grandma on that side of the family was just cruel to people and the female bodies who didn't have her special blessings because, well, apparently her version of God hates girls.

Instead of the guy who thinks women who don't bear children are useless and he also apparently doesn't like cat ladies for some reason???

Do I really get to vote for a VP who goes by a fun nickname like "Tampon Tim???"

Sometimes a liberal dad is nicer to girls than a conservative mom.

The whole idea of some (perhaps not all) conservative mothers, who are so proud of themselves for being mothers and yet constantly do and say things that indicate that they dislike talking about females having needs due to their female bodies is so weird. I mean, you're so proud of yourself for being a mom and having a baby. And yet, you act like you don't care if other people have impaired health, based on their genetics, because the patriarchy wants you to act that way.

Uteruslike.

Are U. wondering if society telling some people that not caring about X types of human beings is normal behavior is going to look not only cruel and prejudiced, but perhaps even downright ridiculous and silly?

Say what???

Ah, my life wouldn't be the same without the formative experiences.

Dear Mildly Crampy Uterus, sorry about being late with my vitamin regimen today, but do you ever wonder if it's too much for some human brains to fathom all the different types of human beings who are going to be seen and counted by more people in the future?

Is this my first "social vulnerability" map?
