I think I will eat some berries for breakfast.

"Oregon has more than 100,000 farmworkers, many of them living in the Willamette Valley. They are the engine that drives the state’s $5 billion agricultural industry, harvesting fruit, tilling the soil and tending to livestock. A state study found the average income for individual farmworkers, including all sources of income, ranged from $17,500 to nearly $20,000 annually for workers in Oregon and Washington. Farmworker households in their entirety earn an average income of less than $25,000 a year."

Serving As A Reminder, The Rude Rich People's Gods of Rising Food Prices

Say That The People Who Got Treated Better by PATRIARCHAL WHITE SUPREMACY, and who therefore have more MONEY than others, are not more important to GOD than everyone else, just  because SOME PEOPLE (the adherents to the norms and values of Patriarchal White Supremacy) have been trained to BULLY and pressure OTHERS to act as though they are more IMPORTANT than everyone else, because they are not well, and got rewarded for being MEAN, just to fit in with some other people, who also got rewarded for perpetuating more meanness.

That's what's sad, is some of them used to be nicer.

They have "My coping mechanism is to abuse people just to feel better, so I can save myself, and get along in this environment, and then I bully others into going along with it, too," energy.

They should be better.

This reminded me of something else disgusting that I read about.

"Over the weekend, at two campaign events, Donald Trump bragged to audiences about another of his big 'ideas,' this one presented to his friend Dana White, the head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. 'Dana,' Trump said he suggested, 'why don’t you set up a migrant league of fighters and have your regular league of fighters, and then you have the champion of your league—these are the greatest fighters in the world—fight the champion of the migrants?' This anecdote was in addition to his usual routine: claiming, erroneously, that migrants are violent, mentally ill criminals, while riling up his crowds with talk of mass deportations."

I feel like I don't want to think too much more about it.

"Among the lesser-known atrocities perpetrated by the Nazis during World War II were boxing matches that forced emaciated Jewish inmates to fight each other to the death for the entertainment of the German SS officers.

Like gladiatorial contests in the Roman Empire, these could go on interminably until one bare-knuckled fighter left the other bloodied and unconscious, so weakened he was useless as a slave laborer and would be hauled off to a gas chamber or crematorium or shot on the spot. While the officers cheered the winner, his prize might be an extra dollop of food so he could have the strength to fight again.

Whatever satisfaction the winner felt easing his hunger pangs, he had to grapple with his guilt at doing his tormentor’s bidding by brutally killing another person, usually another Jew. Yet like the protagonist of 'Sophie’s Choice,' he was in an impossible dilemma: If he lost, it was he who would likely have been killed."

"Confronting Illusions Can Help Heal Trauma" | Scientific American

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/confronting-illusions-can-help-heal-trauma/

Positivity can be healthy and nurturing and good for people.

It's just that to me, it sometimes feels like the type of positivity that looks more like "getting giddy off of not caring" is very unhealthy, and more like being on drugs, and it's not sustainable, but it's also an effective coping mechanism for some people. However, those drugs don't work as well for others, and they might not be as effective one day as they used to be. It seems like they're not working well enough for all to accept that as the best possible solution, at this rate, at this time.

Sometimes what's better for your health is going to be stuff that other people don't want to look at, and I guess that's life, but only sometimes.

"Before 1940, the Netherlands, Belgium and France had been characterized by a parliamentary democracy and a liberal tradition for decades. Admittedly there was some antisemitism, often not openly expressed, but in these countries there had been no legal difference between Jewish and non-Jewish citizens for almost 150 years. The percentage of Jews of the total population did not differ very much and was low in all three countries: 0.75% of the French and Belgian population, and 1.5% of the Dutch population."

Perhaps these types of songs exist as a result of the artists' sensitivity to the collective.

I like the birds and the trees and the sky and also...

I feel grateful for Anne Frank, and her sister Margot, whose diary was lost, And her mother, who she didn't get along with sometimes. And her father, the only one to survive, and without whom we'd probably never know about her. As well as their friends, who were among the tiny minority of the population who didn't find it easy to just go along with discriminating against others in order to temporarily make lives better for themselves.

Because the ability to have feelings tells me so.

I know that socially accepted discrimination is very bad for many children and adults, and they deserve much, much better.

Some people would have acknowledged caring about this more, as well as caring about other kinds of things, when they were younger.
