It's not that humans (and other creatures of nature) don't deserve nice houses and stuff

But when do the "My stuff is way more important than your human rights" vibes get exhausted? Being overly selfish and materialistic in ways that reinforce lots of social inequities just seems like a tragic failure of the imagination.
