I think this year has taught me that patriarchy has been brutal to many psyches.

So many people who were raised within a patriarchal culture got the idea that feminists hate men and they were pressured to act like that is the truth.

And so now, when times get more difficult, suddenly they have to avoid topics of conversation. Even if stuff directly impacts them or other girls and women, and they have to pretend that things are fine, just because maybe they're a little bit better for a certain subset of women. 

That is so destructive. 

I think this year has taught me that a lot of girls in a certain generation were raised in ways that were very brutal to their psyches. Oh and also, sometimes the patriarchy is actually physically brutal as well.
