How to survive knowing some people are so selfish that it's like slamming into a brick wall and picking yourself back up out of the dirt. That's an interesting experience. You can have a better life. You never have to be like them.
You can learn more about attitudes towards colonization from people like that. But maybe you don't need to know that much. I mean, maybe a little knowledge just goes a long way, and then you find other people that you can learn more from.
It seems like a harsh version of living a privileged life, a so-called privileged life filled with fear. Scary deprivation must be around the corner all the time, if that's the best a privileged life has to offer them.
