When people are systemically trained to go along with inequities in order to gain access to resources, they get taught that expecting better makes them outliers, and there could be real consequences for not going along with those old programs.
But it also seems like when more people feel they have permission to access their innate curiosity and their willingness to learn new things, they become much more interested in finding out how humans can address a lot of the imbalances that some larger systemic forces have wanted to reinforce.
