Halfway through a novel

...with a very appealing cover and so far there's a missing girl (more than one, actually), SUNY references, and very little about birds. In school I learned people don't like it when you don't read their stories properly. But sometimes you skim and then reread...

Another way to put it is, this is the book I thought I would be reading: https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews/laura-harrington/a-catalog-of-birds/

This is more like what I am actually reading: https://militaryspousebookreview.com/2018/01/07/one-familys-war-laura-haringtons-a-catalog-of-birds/

"I guess you could say it stole my objections, too. I left the theater with a bad taste in my mouth. Then I went to McDonald’s for the first time in over a year and ordered a Quarter Pounder with cheese and a vanilla shake." ~ Matt Zoller Seitz
