There is nothing they could give me that would make it worth it to be like yet another jerk making excuses for their prejudices and for their morally decrepit behavior patterns just so I could fit in better with "people like them." And sadly, sometimes it seems like their houses are their gateways to more selfishness. ICE agents break into homes like theirs when the occupants are less aligned with the patriarchal white supremacist values that shaped their warped outlooks. They make me think of the "First they came for the others" German pastor. It would be like making me regress into a childish state of mind that I don't want to be in, in order to go along with what they're doing and how they're behaving.
