Maybe it's "No one source can save you."
Like the time I learned about Holographic Memory Resolution in 2006. I felt desperate to find something to help myself and other people. I knew from experience that people who are suffering from trauma might want to die, and I was desperate to find good healing techniques that would help "fix" that problem. I learned about HMR at a wonderful event, and I was full of hope.
Then afterwards, some tall guy in a suit who had also attended the talk and was standing next to me decided to put both of his hands on my hips to move me out of the way so he could talk to the people who had just given this splendid presentation. And it was like, he was their friend. Why did he feel the need to invasively grab my hips to do that?
I was thrown off and quite upset. But if I had started yelling at him, would I have just looked like a crazy person overreacting?
Well, the anger that encounter brought up certainly interrupted the "Oh good, I found the healing technique that will solve these incredibly painful problems" vibe.
Was there no way to get to a space where healing trauma was really respected?
