Nevertheless, why do some well-off people get so habituated to safely siding with the oppressors? It's giving me "Today's 'normal' is tomorrow's 'Oh God don't do that again'" vibes. I guess their untreated shame-based disorders have taken over again.
(Also the oppressors of others are sometimes their own oppressors as well).
You would think that having a lot of disposable income could inspire them to be more open to change, and they would want to be much more open-minded than that, and that to help others would give them joy.
Yet, I can see that there are advantages to being slow about changing some things, sometimes.
But I really don't want to oppress girls and women as a whole just to stay inside of a comfort zone and get short term personal gains.
It is a painful topic, indeed.
