The nice wife who doesn't want to address the bad topics kind of reminds me of the nice guy who eventually gets married and has daughters and surprises you by becoming incredibly rude about anything regarding sexual assault survivors. I suppose his bluster temporarily innoculates him from feeling vulnerable to Dehumanizing Situations and his nice wife must have so many reasons to make excuses for his behavior...but, it's still sickening, nevertheless.
