Agnes still has a lot of privileges. No one is making Agnes feel like a worthless person because she can't have children or get married to a man of "I can do whatever I want as the designated male at the top of the food chain" status.
Agnes is probably living out the exact sort of destiny she was trained for since birth.
It's not enough, though.
