What a reading does to the mind

You feel a change that's not entirely new

It's almost more like getting back in touch

With the real things inside

You wonder if it's the energy

of another life ~ actually maybe it's the photo

Someone is in a photo from the past

Someone like an old neighbor

His mental challenges change

how he moves through life

The walks he takes

Make him a fixture and that's when

you find yourself wondering

Does he live in a good place?

One day he seemed to be eight years old

He waved "Bye, Uncle Tommy!"

He saw his uncle?

Was his uncle really there?

Where was he?

Who does he live with?

He's a tall black man

Who takes care of him?

The one who appeared on the day

the day the day the day the day

of marriage "that's your man" he said

He gave good energy

Where did that come from?

He gave instructions

Opening the door,

flowers, a heart with candy

Those are things we should indulge in

And after the pandemic hit

the last time I saw him

before I moved away

we passed on the sidewalk

He stepped aside with delight

Delighting in his own courtesy

At this social distancing time

Which is something that makes you feel very present

And when you say "thank you" and he seems to know

This is a good thing to happen today

Wow, that could be the best moment of your day

How is he blessed in this life?

That stranger, someone who makes me believe

A truly old soul might choose to be born

On purpose into a body

with some mental differences

He has some energy with him

He has at least one angel with him

Maybe a bunch of them

They work together

They make you believe

The heart surpasses the mind
