I'm supposed to be a down-to-earth person, and not the kind that other people put on a pedestal and act like is a genius. The vast majority of people who get convinced to hero worship another person do so because that other person is better at something than they are. Then they are stalling their own progress. I don't agree with going along with those patterns. It's fine to appreciate that someone's better at stuff than you are. And maybe as a joke you might be a little bit worshippy of them because of their great talents, but too many people get really serious about their hero worship and they become devotees as a coping mechanism, and I just don't think that's very good for most of humanity right now. Hero worship is like drugs I don't need to take.
