It's VERY sad to know that people who chose to be parents and chose to be in charge and are supposed to be role models have made excuses for sexism and for sexual predators and for people who are unsafe for children to be around and that's VERY sad.
It kind of feels like my trust or perhaps my innocence, something I still had when I was much smaller, has totally been destroyed, honestly.
And I know, as someone who still lives in the USA in the 2020s, (which is going to look like the dark ages someday) that I need to figure out how to heal from the trauma for my own health, but I really would so love it if the supposedly "nice" but still addicted to being insensitive people would just stop making excuses for sexism and violent people who are celebrities.
And I know they were trained to be childish about this sort of thing because they never seem to feel the need to take any accountability for the harm those attitudes are causing.
Their way of fitting in so they can go along with Patriarchal Society is not going to work for most people in the future.
Just because it still "good enough" for them doesn't mean it's ever going to work for others.
