"While walking to the dentist, I turn onto the Kurilpa Bridge and am confronted with four women in fluorescent pink, ponytails swinging, jogging in step. I immediately prickle. I want to walk in the shade, and they are running on the shady side. I think: I'm not moving for these jogging bimbos. But then I stop. I am taken aback that after months and months of writing about women collaborating and caring for one another, I'm still reflexively anti-woman-- particularly anti-woman in groups. I move to the side and let the joggers pass; I think they might be training for a charity run, from what I glimpse on the pockets of their running shirts. But would it matter if they weren't? They all look very young, and being young and long-haired and wanting to stay fit and doing it with your friends is not a crime, or even something to scoff at. How long is it going to take to unpick this knot that misogyny has tied me in?"Page 84- 85
