You know, it could be really emotionally damaging to focus intensely on stuff like how and why genocides happen, and I wonder if it could even warp one's judgment if there's no healing component involved. Because if you are in a certain frame of mind, it would just make you want to seek vengeance. And that could blind you and affect your judgement. I'm not saying such work should not be done. I'm not saying the secrets shouldn't be uncovered. I'm saying that when I see people who have done a lot of work with uncovering these secrets, and then I'm completely flabbergasted by some of the conclusions they drew, I feel like they must have gotten extremely emotionally damaged, to the point where it really affected how they view the world and that's why they make such perplexing choices, because if they're in a state of survival mode that's pointing them in a certain direction, that's going to push them into making decisions that can cause a lot of harm to other people.
