There were people who chose to prop up violent men because that's what their Patriarchal Culture taught them to do. It was not okay. It's a time to get better. Being less irresponsible and less likely to be insensitive towards certain kinds of people and respecting all kinds of people is better than what the Patriarchal Culture wanted.
