"One of the places I visited during the bus trip I took with other journalists was a former vacation estate of a Prussian aristocrat in the Tatra Mountains on the Polish-Czechoslovak border. The Polish government had converted it into a kind of recovery residence for children who had been born in concentration camps or had spent part of their childhood in them. Their parents, without exception, had been murdered by the Nazis."
