Good stuff

It is really important to have the willingness to accept good, healing energy and real self love. Real self love is a great healing force on our planet. It is real and it is a force of nature.

How do you you know it's real?
It makes you feel happy.
It makes you feel generous.
That includes being generous with yourself.

I can feel some of it now.
I can feel me in some alternate reality, residing in an artistic cottage, surrounded by nature, exclaiming, the disillusionment damn near killed me! Yes, why was it easy to forget. It's an earth life full of fears and distractions.

If your gift to the planet is living a quiet life and learning about real self love, which includes nature, and self-nurture, so be it.

I hope that life will be better than that.

Dear Linda, I am so sorry.

That was such a scary dream. Infrastructure was going to pieces. Society was going to pieces. We were drinking out of soda machines. I said I would not live long because of insulin stuff. I was telling family I love them. I was hoping to be reunited with my boyfriend. I just woke up. We aren't that bad yet. Love is important. So is clean drinking water. We can do so, so, so much better for each other.

And I like to say that growing up in an island culture is a unique experience because when you live on an island, you have to care about the welfare of the other people around you in order for yourself to survive. So that was sort of the underpinning of my entire formation."

"My mother is from New York, so she's not Hawaiian. And my parents are evangelical Christians — very conservative, evangelical Christian. So it was this wide encompassing island culture, and then the black and white rules of evangelical culture and what women are supposed to do. Oh holy candlelight...

Welcomed by trees! After being strongly encouraged to turn away from a service I really didn't want to go to anyway (no room at the inn, ha ha), went to an Anglican church instead. Sang "O Holy Night" while looking over the flame of a candle at 3 little girls with crowns on their heads (the "3 wise women.") It included lots and lots of music and singing, remembering to have compassion for refugees, a children's version of the X-mas story (the place was filled with kids, both in the audience and up front in costumes as shepherds, angels, characters in the nativity scene, etc), scenes from Forest Gump, and how being lonely means it is time to be closer with God, who does not want you to be lonely. It was far, far better than I expected.

We witness to the destructive short- and long-term effects on society that occur when such an eternal law is violated. "We spent the Sabbath mourning and praying for the families of the innocent who were gunned down Saturday in pre-meditated massacres in El Paso and Dayton, as well as for precious children of God killed in Gilroy last week. Familiar with the image of a Maker who weeps with us, we feel deep sorrow in our knowledge that the shooters are “without affection, and… hate their own blood” (Moses 7:29 and 33). We refuse to become numb or to believe that mass shootings are a way of life in America and will never accept this horror as inevitable or unstoppable. A lot of information about women and

Money

"According to Ketchum, women in the 70s usually needed a husband or father to apply for a credit card on their behalf. Feminist credit unions sometimes helped out, but most feminist restaurants were funded by a combination of donations, out-of-pocket money, and, as one article on the Iowa City restaurant Grace and Rubies states, 'loans ranging from $10 to $1500 from local women.'"

You have gotten much better and healthier, you have not succumbed to being a puppet of foolish cruelty, you have not acted like an insecure, abusive liar, nor have you been someone whose behavior is just as bad for girls, women, children and humanity as your father's was.

Why would anyone want that?

What will the future hold for us?"

Could have been better

The first impression was that for some reason he lies a lot in order to protect his own ego. Second, while still a highly insecure person, there is a capacity for healing and for goodness, so that is positive.  The third impression is that he being held up as an icon by a system that is unjust (they don't want him to change / get better) and he still cares more for his own unchecked, so-called "power" than he does for being good to humanity as a whole. Sorry. The fourth is, he could have been a much, much better person than that, but he chose otherwise, and that is why so much unnecessary suffering happens in connection with the "progress." The fifth is, he's not gonna be better to other people's kids than he is to his own.

People can be good

There's plenty about the world that can get better but having anxiety and aches and pains and high blood pressure is an indicator that it is better to take care of your health. Heal, even if it's not easy. Isn't it strange. Wouldn't you think it would be easier. Doesn't it sound nice. Heal and rest. Endeavor to make good health a great goal.

A passenger on the plane had a black cat in a travel bag / carrier who cried a lot whenever there was turbulence. Hope they feel better on the ground now.

Ah, impressionable formative experiences

THAT WASN'T SO LONG AGO

"'Just because there are not any female cadets at The Citadel now, do cadets think they'll never have to deal with women in the military? Are they going to throw a fit when they become pilots and the officer in charge of maintaining their aircraft is female? If their platoon is under fire in the field and a female is in charge of the artillery support, are they going to wait until they find a male before they'll accept the support? If a female saves their lives (and it may very well happen), will they say they would have rather died? The military can teach needed skills, but only individuals can change their own attitudes. Shannon Faulkner should be commended for the ground she broke for females. I hope she still pursues a military career at a more-civilized institution and realizes that the real military has more honor and dignity than the exposure she received at The Citadel.'  JAMES H. ROWBOTTOM Officer candidate, U.S. Navy Virginia Beach, Aug. 19, 1995"

WAS IT?

"'Regarding ``Some on Faulkner's course aren't impressed'' (local news, Aug. 19): I have a hard time believing that the young ladies quoted in the article are as unsympathetic as they seem. Certainly they wouldn't be attending the Virginia Women's Institute for Leadership's newly developed class had it not been for people like Shannon Faulkner questioning the system. When I first heard of Shannon's legal battles to obtain admission to The Citadel, I too wondered why she bothered. Now I wonder, ``Why not?'' One girl at the Virginia Women's Institute for Leadership said, ``We just want a better education!'' Is she saying that women can find a better education only at an all-male VMI or Citadel? Why can't they receive their ``better education'' at Mary Baldwin without VMI becoming a part of it? Shannon left The Citadel with her head held high, despite the fury. And over what? The right of a woman in 1995 to penetrate the walls of a tax-funded Good Ol' Boys institution. It seemed everybody wanted Shannon to represent their personal views, but in the end Shannon had the courage to represent only her own.'  DEBBIE RYAN Norfolk, Aug. 21, 1995 by CNB"

Ha ha. Oh God. Sick headache. It will not win today.

This sounds excellent

"By understanding the science, California Surgeon General Dr. Nadine Burke Harris says the state can cut toxic stress and adverse childhood experiences, such as abuse, neglect and family dysfunction, in half within one generation."

Dear kids, you think we can get better?

Sometimes we need the healing music for our pain, and sometimes messages come through protest songs, isn't that sonething?

TIME TO REST

It is necessary to care for the body now.

Watching a lyrics video from Costa Rica

IMPACTO LASTESIS #costarica #chile #violador from CANALTERRAMAYA They call out to hermanas from other countries and also changed some of the lyrics to include the church and...looking up "burguesia" (?) That's what I thought.

Something else is coming back...

When I was young, I briefly met someone's distant aunt, described to me as a feminist woman, in Peru. It was decades ago. I wish I remembered more now. She had pictures in her house that showed she was involved in organizing to help women in her community. What I remember most about her is how she gave an impression of being happy and fulfilled and on her path in life. Maybe I feel I can understand it a little better now. I also wonder, could she still be alive?

This is an accomplishment of our era

"The #LasTesis feminist protest dance started during the protests in Chile. Since then it has gone around the world. Today, female members of Turkey's main opposition party performed it in Parliament. Defying Erdogan’s crackdown on feminist protests."

It shows a deep understanding and empathy and commitment to making the world a better and safer place for all human beings.

I like it when...

....people show they care about others. They can care about themselves, too. They are interested in big changes, changes for the good, changes for the many.

Ready for zen mode

Lots of introversion and phone stuff today.
Zen mode could help with processing all the th uh ngs....

Where is it.

The society that values spiritual progress a lot. Like more than money and things.

Sounds like some drama

The kids who grew up to be opponents for really weird and/or gripping reasons.

Earth body as experiencer

If you close your eyes and some specific imagery comes in, is that for a story or just an interesting way to have feelings. The feelings seem as important as the images and can shift around a lot.

Maybe a link needed to get lost

It was about math and student loans.

Adios, link.

Tired enough now.

Different lessons each life

If you have years of learning ahead of you, will you ever sit in a room with others for days and days, with many reminders of cultural consequences and then one day, as a favor, this from the one leading: "But she is one of us...her boyfriend makes her chorizo..." or you start to go somewhere else and someone you don't even know well says, with disappointment, "she's leaving" and its like the universe is warning you not to go down the wrong path...

Learn from them I guess?

If you have got a person in your life who would genuinely know how to treat people better?

Happy news in a horrible time

"I’m glad @USCIS did the right thing for the Sanchez family after @RepPressley , @SenMarkey & I fought the admin's decision to order sick kids to leave the US. We won’t stop fighting this admin’s cruel policies that inflict pain on children & families."

And so this was good to watch

Performance colectivo Las Tesis "Un violador en tu camino"

People can be reborn...but...

This tragic violence should not be happening now and it is the failure of society that it continues.

"According to women's rights group We Will Stop Femicide, 391 women have been killed by men this year so far.

In 2011, 121 women were killed. By 2017, that figure was 409, while 440 were killed in 2018.

The killing of 38-year-old Emine Bulut in August sparked outrage across the country.

Bulut, who had divorced her husband four years earlier, was stabbed in a cafe in front of her 10-year-old daughter in the central Anatolian city of Kirikkale.

She later died in hospital.

A video of the aftermath of the attack was posted online showing Bulut in the cafe, covered in blood, screaming to her daughter: 'I don't want to die.'

The tearful girl says: 'Mum, please don't die.'

Turkish women participated in protests to call for protection against such incidents after Bulut's death, but several more women have been killed in the months since, provoking further outrage and call for legal reform."
