People who have been making excuses for sexism and laughing it off and normalizing it are being far worse and more cruel than they needed to be to both children and grownups. But they want to do what they want to do. There is nothing I can do to stop them really. I can speak up and say something but they don't want to listen. They just like bullying people and they like following the patriarchal examples that others role-modeled for them and I'm sorry they can't see a better way. Maybe send someone their way to help them, if possible.
