Why do some people with more stability in their upbringing seem to feel more at home with authoritarianism? It almost seems to make more sense when somebody has more instability in their upbringing. Like they think (incorrectly I would say) that aligning themselves with authoritarian principles and institutions will bring them the stability they missed out on.
